The Hamilton Chamber of Commerce exists to strengthen our local economy by building an inclusive, connected, and resilient community. We support small businesses, foster meaningful collaboration, and create opportunities for growth through innovative programming, advocacy, and engagement.

Hamilton Chamber of Commerce – Code of Conduct
The Hamilton Chamber of Commerce exists to support a vibrant, equitable, and thriving local economy rooted in community connection and mutual respect. As such, we expect all members, volunteers, and partners to uphold the following standards of behavior:
1. Act with Integrity
We expect honesty and transparency in all business dealings, communications, and representations. Misleading, exploitative, or unethical behavior is not tolerated.
2. Foster an Inclusive and Respectful Environment
We are committed to creating a space where all people feel welcome, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, age, religion, sexual orientation, ability, or socioeconomic background. Discrimination, harassment, or exclusionary behavior has no place in our Chamber.
3. Collaboration Over Competition
We believe in healthy business competition, but also in a spirit of collaboration. Members should avoid disparaging others or engaging in business practices that undercut the wider ecosystem of Hamilton.
4. Cultivate Community Impact
Chamber programming benefits not just individual businesses, but the larger community. We encourage participation that reflects a commitment to shared success and collective impact.
5. Contribute Constructively
We welcome respectful feedback and dialogue with a solution-oriented mindset. We value voices that are curious, empathetic, and willing to listen.
Accountability
Violations of this Code of Conduct may result in a warning, removal from an event or committee, or in serious cases, revocation of Chamber membership or privileges. All concerns will be handled with discretion and fairness.
The Chamber reserves the right to deny participation to any company if, in its sole opinion, a participant’s business conduct or ethical behavior may cast a negative light on the Chamber's programs, projects or services.
We recognize that being part of a thriving community takes work. This Code is not just a set of rules - it’s a reflection of the culture we’re building together.
